7th Annual Honey Bee Experience

We were delighted to welcome Master Beekeeper Steve Chen to Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum for a fun and educational day all about honeybees — nature’s tiny superheroes! With over 500,000 honeybees living in five hives on our property, guests had the opportunity to learn just how important these pollinators are to our gardens, trees, and shrubs.

The day featured:

• An engaging talk by Master Beekeeper Steve Chen
• A close-up look at real working beehives
• Fascinating facts about honey production and pollination
• Bee-themed activities for kids and nature lovers
• A “Find the Queen” activity using an observation hive
• Fresh honey tastings

We were especially excited to host three sessions: two open to the public and another designed just for local Girl and Boy Scouts, who enjoyed learning about the essential role bees play in our ecosystem.

It was a wonderful day of learning, exploration, and appreciation for the natural world.
