November 10, 2020Pinelawn Supports Families and the Environment with Fresh, Evergreen Holiday Decorations
November 24, 2020As a result of the pandemic, we were unable to host our regularly scheduled Arboretum Tours this spring, however, we still wanted to share information about the various majestic trees on our property with the community. Follow along with Jim Dublar, Certified Arborist, as he knowledgeably explains the unique properties of the many notable trees on Pinelawn’s grounds in our Virtual Arboretum Tour.
At Pinelawn Memorial Park And Arboretum, we are dedicated to maintaining and creating a place of beauty and serenity for all those who visit us. This commitment, particularly to the natural landscape of the grounds, has earned Pinelawn status as a Level I Accredited Arboretum. This dedication to the environment not only creates a space that trees, plants, and flowers can grow, but also, helps bees, certain breeds of birds, and other creatures that rely on these arboreta and botanicals, to prosper. Through this Arboretum status, Pinelawn Memorial Park And Arboretum will be able to further our goal of providing our community with an aesthetically pleasing, open, lush green space that is also environmentally conscious.
Pinelawn hosts two arboretum tours a year, one Arboretum Tour in the Spring and a Fall Foliage Tour. These educational guided tours provide guests with information on our many notable trees including Nikko Maple (acer maximowiczianum) and our priceless 73′ wide Weeping Beech (fagus sylvatica ‘pendula’), as well as the Common Nine Bark Tree whose bark exfoliates into intriguing paper-like strips, among many others. Pinelawn currently has 25 registered arboreta and is currently registering 75 additional trees to achieve Level II Arboretum status by early 2021.
