Pinelawn Offers New Website Feature To Help Families Easily Find Their Loved One’s Memorial Location
March 11, 2022REGISTRATION IS OPEN PLEASE SEE BELOW
When someone we hold dear passes, it becomes incredibly complicated to process these emotions. While grief is a normal reaction to losing a loved one, it is important to take steps to ensure you are coping in a healthy way.
Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, in collaboration with COPE Foundation, will be offering free, monthly online grief support workshops. By providing the tools and strategies for healthy coping, the goal is to be a resource that will help guide families through the journey of processing grief. Those who wish to participate can register on the first of every month through Eventbrite.
Tues., March 22, 2022
Online Grief Support Workshop “Allowing Nature to Hold Us: Grief and Healing through Nature-based Practice”
7 pm – 8 pm
When grieving, people often follow an innate desire to be outdoors, go on long walks, spend time in the garden, or visit the ocean. These instincts to be with Nature are important to follow. Time in wild places, even your yard, is a tonic for a troubled heart. Join Lynn Trotta for this hour-long workshop and learn what to do when you’re out there to optimize the healing benefits. You’ll learn simple meditation techniques, ways to engage with your senses, and gratitude rituals, all designed to offer a gentle pathway to quiet the mind and peace.

Online Grief Support Workshop “The Shape of Your Heart: Art Therapy for Grief”
7 pm – 8 pm
By using simple art materials, we will explore together the current shape of our hearts and what fills it up. In grief, it often feels as if something is stolen from us; like our identity is missing a piece. It’s hard to come back from that. Art Therapy is a modality that allows us to use non-verbal processing through art-making to explore experiences existing within our depths, often what feels we have no words for. During this workshop, we will mindfully witness the current state of our hearts and then have a chance to alter this representation, offering an opportunity for control when we may feel we have none.
Please have the following materials on hand for the workshop: A few sheets of paper, scissors, drawing materials of your choice, glue/tape (optional), and a magazine (optional)
