The process of Air Spading involves loosening the soil to promote root expansion and ensuring that the tree has access to the nutrients needed to encourage healthiness. While Air Spading, we use a soil sample and replace all of the proper nutrients. Then we add compost, charcoal, and soil amendments and stir them in with air pressure to create optimal soil conditions for that specific tree. When a tree has ideal soil conditions, it’s like having a strong immune system; the tree will better tolerate pests and disease, ultimately preserving it.
In these videos, you can follow along as we showcase the process of Air Spading a Black Oak Tree. We pick several trees each year that we believe would benefit from Air Spading or require attention. By doing this to mature and stressed trees, we can improve or maintain their health.
At Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, we are dedicated to providing a beautiful tranquil environment to all of our visitors. This dedication is why when families pre-plan their memorial property in our serene gardens or majestic mausoleums, they never have to pay any annual or perpetual care charges, even for premium services such as Air Spading.
