Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum will be holding its first Lantern Lighting Celebration where family and friends can honor loved ones by decorating floating lanterns that will be released in our peaceful Rose Garden Fountain during a memorable name reading ceremony.
Each family will be provided a floating lantern, as well as art supplies for decorating, in this picnic-style event. The beautiful outdoor setting, complete with the vibrant colors in our rose garden labyrinth, offer families the perfect setting to fondly remember a loved one among the soft glow of string lights and the sounds of an acoustic guitar and violin. Seating and tables will be available and guests are invited to bring their own picnic. Additional food will be available for purchase through a third party vendor.
As the sun begins to set, families will be asked to light their lanterns using the supplied battery operated candle as we begin the ceremony. As your loved one’s name is read aloud, you will be invited to release your lantern within the fountain. The visual of this event will be both inspiring and magical, and a beautiful way to pay tribute to your loved one.
Due to the limited number of tickets for this event and ensuring we can support as many families as possible at this lantern celebration, we kindly request that no more than 6 guests attend on behalf of a loved one.
