Pinelawn Awarded Title Of Best Cemetery Of Long Island 2023 For Fourth Year in a Row
January 13, 2023
Honey Bee Experience 2022
January 30, 2023As a way to support families going through the process of grief, Pinelawn, in collaboration with COPE Foundation, began to offer various Grief Healing Workshops throughout the year. Each workshop focuses on a different topic surrounding grief and provides tools for healthy coping. While these workshops were previously offered online, Pinelawn is now hosting the first in-person Grief Healing Workshop.
The Grief Healing Workshop, “Creating healing Mandalas in the Circle of Life,” will be offered on March 4th in two sessions, 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm and 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm at Pinelawn’s Reception Office. By providing an in-person workshop, Pinelawn hopes to further the connection of attendees and enhance the feeling of support.
More about the workshop: Mandala is the Sanskrit word for “Circle.” Mandala-making is a common Art Therapy method used for insight, healing, and self-expression. It is another way to practice mindfulness. Circles often symbolize our connectedness with all people, including our lost loved ones. Licensed Art Psychotherapist, Deborah Adler, will lead you into creating your own mandala allowing you to explore your feelings whether they reflect grief, sadness, inspiration, or hope. No artistic skill or experience is required.
Get creative, allow your mind to wander, and enjoy the process while you design your art piece with colors, images, and symbols that inspire you to reflect on your loved one. There will be dedicated time following the art experience to share mandalas and process any feelings and emotions that come up for you.
Registration opens February 15th at 10am. To receive an invitation to this event, please sign up for email notifications no later than February 13th by visiting www.pinelawn.com/events.
