What would you like to share about your loved one’s service and dedication within the military?
Born in the Bronx, NY, Greg was the son on Frank and Ruth (Friedman) Shannon. After graduating from Adelphi University, he proudly served his country as an Air Force pilot during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Captain of a strategic air command squadron. His calm, cool, and collected leadership earned him many military accolades and awards, not limited to, but including the Air Medal, for Meritorious Flight in Battle, and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
What is your favorite memory of your loved one? This does not have to be related to his/her military service.
He will be remembered by his friends, coworkers, and loved ones as being intelligent, having a wonderful sense of humor about life, and being one of the most dedicated, selfless, and loving fathers ever to be known.
