What would you like to share about your loved one’s service and dedication within the military?
Frank McClean served as an Automotive Mechanic in the Infantry. He was wounded and captured by the German Military on December 16, 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge. He was transported, sometimes walking, to the prisoner of war camp Stalag 9B Bad Orb Hessen-Nassau, Prussia and liberated April 2, 1945 by General George S Patten. For his service he received many medals including the Purple Heart for injuries in battle and the Bronze Star for heroism in battle.
What is your favorite memory of your loved one? This does not have to be related to his/her military service.
Daddy took my brother and I sleigh riding and ice skating in the winter. I especially enjoyed doing the waltz on ice skates with my father. He also had a pilot's license and would take us up in a Pipper Cub very small airplane, it was very exciting.
